Excuse me, I need to make a long post about Baka to Test’s end.
I’ve been waiting for translations ever since they announced that Volume 12 would be the final volume. It was released around November last year, so it really was quite a long wait before I managed to read up till its end. (I had to wait for translated chapters c/o Ping from Baka-Tsuki.) In any case, Granny Principal made me real mad, but I still had fun in the end.
Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu was one of my first ventures into the animé world. I was initially skeptical about it, since I used to hate fanservice so much to a fault. It eventually grew on me, and I ended up loving every second of it. Of course, critical viewers would note its predictability and insanely cliché moments, but I didn’t mind those back then. I’m pretty sure I would notice them nowadays, but I still love the series nevertheless.
It was also one of the first shows I managed to watch with anyone other than myself. I showed an episode to both my sisters—we all ended up watching the second season together, week after week. It was also one of the reasons why I turned my Tumblr into an animé blog to begin with (it was one of the first tags I frequented).
So, yeah. I really like this show. Characters, comedy, hijinks—I loved every single moment of it. To finally see it end kind of makes me sad, but it’s worth it in the end.
If you want a good start on reading light novels, or if you want a new light novel to read, or even if you’re just looking for some animé, then I urge you to try Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu. It’s fun. Really fun.
